  • Senior Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years of experience helping people work through a range of emotional, psychological and behavioural difficulties.
  • Has a particular interest in Trauma and Complex Trauma, especially current and ex serving defence members and their families
  • Has worked in both public and private settings
  • Is an Open Arms, DVA and BUPA (defence psychology) provider

Therapy Approaches

An EMDR Accredited Practitioner CBT and trauma focused CBT Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Schema Therapy Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Interpersonal Psychotherapy Mindfulness Based Therapies
Fees (reviewed on 1st July every year)
  • Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA):
  • For eligible Whote and Gold card holders. To access psychology via DVA you need a referral from your GP or Psychiatrist

  • Open Arms:
  • If you are a current or ex serving defence member (full time and reserves) you or your family member may be eligible to access psychology services funded via Open Arms. Please check their webiste or call Open Arms to confim your eligiblility and intake https://www.openarms.gov.au/who-we-help


  • BUPA also assist with Open Arms services (information to be updated shortly)

  • Better Access Initiative:
  • Access to sessions under the Medicare Better Access Initiative requires a referral and Mental Health Care Plan from a GP, psychiatrist, or paediatrician. Up to 10 sessions per calendar year are eligible for a rebate of $145.25 (from 1st July 2025). More information is available at the Australian Psychological Society’s Better Access Initiative page

  • Consultation Fee: $256.00 ($226 for concession with a Centrelink health care or pension card)
  • Medicare Rebate: $145.25
  • Out-of-Pocket Cost: $110.75 (or $79.75 for concession)
  • Rebate is processed by Medicare within 24-48 hours after session payment.

  • Private:
  • You do not require a referral to access psychological services but the full fee rate applies. You may be eligible for a rebate from your private health fund but that is to be explore by the individual.
  • Dr Liz Cooepr is no longer accepting NSW Workcover SIRA referrals
